Jannik Sinner's glamorous girlfriend reveals 'too many footballers' slide into her DMs | Tennis | Sport

Jannik Sinner's girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya has revealed that 'too many footballers' slide into her private messages on social media. Kalinskaya, who competes on the WTA Tour, recently started dating Sinner with the couple making their relationship public during the French Open.

Kalinskaya finished as the runner-up at last week's Berlin Ladies Open, losing to Jessica Pegula in the final after failing to convert multiple match points. During the tournament, she took part in a 'phone challenge' which saw her answer a series of questions as part of a promotional video.

At one point, the 25-year-old was asked to name the most famous person to have 'slid into her DMs' on social media. She replied: "I don't know, probably some football player, so I'm not gonna.... I don't know, too many football players. So, I didn't reply."

Kalinskaya was also quizzed on her favourite apps and chose WhatsApp and FaceTime because she enjoys using them to speak with friends and family. She was later asked what her most recent Google search was and responded: "It can be a funny one actually. No, it was actually about the fruit, about Chinese [fruit]. Pear? Yeah, Pear, I guess."

Sinner and Kalinskaya have only been dating for a couple of months, with the former confirming they were officially together during a press conference at the French Open. Quizzed on the rumours of their relationship, he said: "I don't like to talk about my private life much, but yes, Anna and I are dating."

Kalinskaya, who hails from Russia, has one WTA 250 title under her belt in addition to three doubles titles. Earlier this year, she reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open to mark her best performance at a Grand Slam, eventually losing at the hands of Qinwen Zheng.

She previously dated fellow tennis player Nick Kyrgios, with their relationship lasting around a year before she confirmed they had split in 2020.

In a message to her fans on social media, Kalinskaya wrote: "We broke up. We aren’t friends. I understand you are his friends and it’s cool but I’m not going to talk about him. Have some respect for me as well please."

Kalinskaya later clarified her comments by insisting there was no bad blood between herself and Kyrgios, saying: "He did nothing. He is a good person and I didn’t mean to comment about him. I don’t know why people think it’s about him. He is a great player and nice person."
