Video shows tourist 'headbutted' by King's Guard horse | UK | News

A shocking new video has captured a woman apparently being "headbutted and thrown to the floor" for getting too close to a King's Guard horse.

A video of the incident shared to X shows the woman posing for photos next to the horse with a young man. The horse moves its head forward to nudge the woman, who then stumbles forwards before faceplanting onto the ground.

She stays on the floor for a while as people attend to her and try to help her up. Once she gets up she can be seen repeatedly clutching her nose while talking to police officers.

There are nearby signs warning tourists that the horses "may kick of bite" and explicitly telling them not to touch the reigns.

The King's Guard themselves also often tell tourists to move away and not touch the horses as they will react by pushing them.

Commentator Oli London shared the footage, writing: "Tourist gets headbutted and thrown to the floor after standing next to a Kings Guard horsemen.

"Tourists are warned not to get close to the horses or guards with a nearby sign reading 'Beware. Horse may kick or bite. Don’t touch the reigns. Thank you.'"

People responding to the video all seemed to be saying the same thing, slamming her for overreacting and "trying to start an insurance claim".

One person wrote: "Come on...the horse nudged her, and she went for the ground like a compo claim."

Another said: "Not headbutted, just nudged. Not thrown to the ground, flopped like someone trying to start an insurance claim."

A third chimed in: "The horse nudged her. She feel over her own feet, then lay there and milked it."

The King's Guard stand outside Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace, and are organised by the British Army's Household Division. It's an operational posting with the main purpose of "protecting the Sovereign".
