A poll has found more Britons say Reform UK is telling the truth about immigration than Labour and the Conservatives.

The survey reveals deep distrust among the public, with 52 percent of respondents saying they don't think Sir Keir Starmer's party is being truthful on the topic and 49 percent saying the same about the Tories.

Some 60 percent said they think Nigel Farage's party is telling the truth about immigration in the poll of 2,238 Britons carried out by YouGov for Sky News from June 14-17.

The poll comes as Reform has set out proposals for a "freeze" on non-essential immigration as well as a four-point plan to tackle small boats including quitting the European Convention on Human Rights and returning migrants who come over in boats to France.

Labour has promised to scrap the Government's multimillion-pound plan to send migrants to Rwanda and use the money to pay for a new security border command.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has acknowledged migration has been "too high" in recent years but pledged to halve migration and then reduce it every single year. The Tory manifesto commits to stopping boats crossing the English Channel, including through the Rwanda scheme.

But the document stops short of saying the UK could leave the European Convention on Human Rights, as some Tories, including former home secretary Suella Braverman, have called for.
