Kevin Campbell’s heartbreaking three words in final photo he posted of himself | Football | Sport

A poignant post from former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell has emerged after he died, aged 54. Having been rushed to hospital last month after 'feeling unwell', the tragic news was confirmed on Saturday morning.

And a heartbreaking upload from Campbell himself, his last on social media, has come to light.

Back in March 2023, he took to Instagram to pose with a box of products from Earthborn Naturals.

The company specialises in making healthy natural food and drink products, and had supplied the former striker. He captioned the image: "I have got it thanks Earthborn Naturals," adding "Health is Wealth" to finish.

In a distinguished playing career, he represented the likes of Arsenal, Everton, Nottingham Forest, Trabzonspor, West Brom and Cardiff. He finished his career with 149 club goals and represented England at under-21 and B team level.

Arsenal reacted to the news with a tribute on social media. On the official account, they wrote: "We are devastated to learn that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness.

"Kevin was adored by everyone at the club. All of us are thinking of his friends and family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kevin."

He was also revered by Everton fans for his stint at Goodison Park, and the Merseyside club themselves have paid tribute. "Everyone at Everton is deeply saddened by the death of our former striker Kevin Campbell at the age of just 54," they wrote.

"Not just a true Goodison Park hero and icon of the English game, but an incredible person as well - as anyone who ever met him will know. RIP, Super Kev."

But undoubtedly his best season came in 1990/91, scoring 10 times as the Gunners landed the Division 1 title. He also helped the club win the FA Cup and League Cup double the following season.

After his playing career ended, Campbell went into punditry. And he regularly appeared on Sky Sports News to offer analysis on his former clubs in particular.
