Sony recently unveiled a couple of fantastic looking games for PSVR 2. During Sony's recent State of Play event, Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners developer Skydance announced plans to bring fantasy action game Behemoth to PlayStation VR 2 this autumn, while Alien: Rogue Incursion is a terrifying new horror game launching during the holiday season. However, fans were less impressed with the news that PS5 platform game Astro Bot wouldn't be available on PSVR 2, despite its predecessor being one of the best games for Sony's original virtual reality device. Fortunately, Sony has attempted to make amends by unveiling a brand new PSVR 2 accessory that will give users access to hundreds of additional games.

Launching this August, the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter will make it possible to play Steam VR titles using your PlayStation VR headset.

This includes the superb Half-Life: Alyx, as well as blockbusters like Fallout 4 VR, War Thunder and the hugely entertaining Bonelab.

Unfortunately, however, the new technology doesn't come cheap. First up you'll need the actual PlayStation VR 2 PC adapter, which will retail for approximately £49.99.

According to Sony, PSVR 2 owners will also need to purchase a separate "commercially available DisplayPort cable", specifically one that's compatible with DisplayPort 1.4. While DisplayPort cables aren't too expensive to buy, it's worth buying a decent one if you want the best possible performance.

Of course, the real kicker is that you'll need a PC that meets the minimum requirements needed to run VR games on Sony's device.

Once you do have all the items at your disposal, setting up is as simple as connecting your PlayStation VR2 to your PC using the PS VR2 PC adapter and the DisplayPort 1.4 cable.

You'll then be required to download the PlayStation VR2 App and the SteamVR App, which will enable you to set up your PlayStation VR device on your PC. This includes setting up your play area and purchasing games.

As Sony points out, performance may vary depending on your set-up and individual game requirements, so it's worth thoroughly researching before making a purchase.

It's also worth noting that some PSVR 2 exclusive features won't work with Steam VR games, such as headset feedback, eye tracking and adaptive triggers.

Still, while the tech will cost a pretty penny (especially if you have to upgrade your PC), the rewards are most definitely worth it.

Half Life Alyx is probably the best PC game ever made, featuring the same excellent level design and innovative gameplay you would expect from the popular FPS series.

Couple that with some of the impressive games already available on PSVR 2, and suddenly Sony's device seems much more appealing.

PC support for PlayStation VR 2 will go live on August 7.
