UK weather maps show exact date cold snap will hit Britain in middle of summer | Weather | News

Britain is likely to be hit by cold weather conditions as the latest weather maps show temperatures plummeting as low as 2C in June.

Weather maps from WXCharts show a cold snap will hit the UK on June 9 as the country continues to go through a spell of interchangeable weather.

Maps from WXCharts suggest that it will once again turn colder in the UK in the middle of the summer weather.

The chilly conditions will begin from June 4 and continue till June 9 before it turns dry again, maps suggest.

Temperature levels in Scottish highlands are likely to hover around 2-4C on June 9, maps suggest.

Even the areas in the southern part of the country will see a nip in the air with mercury levels falling to 4-5C during the same period.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast between June 7 and 16 reads also talks about “cool” temperatures.

It reads: “The first part of the period most likely characterised by showers sometimes blustery, occasionally heavy with thunderstorms, sometimes forming larger bands of rain.

“Showers most often across north-western areas but all areas likely to see some, generally becoming lighter in the south with increasing brighter spells.

“Temperatures rather cool for most. Into the new week the outlook becomes uncertain though most likely an increased potential for periods of rain breaking into showers, sometimes heavy and thundery to spread from the west with fresh or strong winds at times.

“Rainfall likely slightly above average for most, though driest conditions most likely in the northeast.

“Temperatures mainly around normal, feeling cool in the northwest with best chance of warmer temperatures in the southeast.”

This Evening and Tonight:

Outbreaks of rain will push southwards across Scotland. Generally dry elsewhere, with clear spells. Clearest skies across southern England and Wales, with some mist and fog patches possible here.

Monday:

Cloud and patchy light rain will sink southwards across Northern Ireland and northern England. Sunnier skies following for Scotland. Largely dry and cloudy elsewhere with a few sunny spells.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Showery rain moving southwards on Tuesday. Sunshine and showers for Wednesday and Thursday, mainly in the north. Temperatures around average and increasingly windy.
