Bournemouth police release CCTV of murder suspect | UK | News

Detectives have released CCTV footage depicting a suspect arrested on suspicion of murdering a local personal trainer.

Bournemouth Police were called to Durley Chine Beach on Friday last week following reports that two women were stabbed on the shore at around 11.45pm.

A 34-year-old woman - who has since been named locally as personal trainer Amie Gray - was pronounced dead at the scene, and a second woman, aged 38, has since been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators have released CCTV footage today showing a hooded subject arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police have promised in a statement that their investigations are "driving forward" after officers arrested a 17-year-old boy.

Officers have arrested an unidentified teen from the Lancashire area on suspicion of murder, and have urged people who might have information regarding the incident to come forward.

Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey said: "Since this tragic incident was reported to us, we have been driving the investigation forward, collecting as much information as possible to get answers for the loved ones of the young woman who has tragically lost her life and for the surviving victim. Our thoughts remain with them.

"We are now in a position to issue CCTV images of the suspect. I would urge anyone who was in the area of Durley Chine beach during the night from Friday 24 May to Saturday 25 May 2024 and may have seen the person pictured or anything unusual to please come forward."

Police are specifically seeking people who may have been at the Durley Roundabout, around West Cliff Gardens, Durley Gardens or West Cliff Drive.

Investigators believe that people who were around those areas may have "vital clues" relating to the incident.

As the case continues to develop, local tributes have poured out for Ms Gray, a personal trainer and football coach who also worked in sales.

One friend posting on Facebook said they felt "so heavy" and would miss her "so much".

They wrote below a collage of photos: "Fly high Amie Gray I’ll miss you so much. I feel so heavy! You were such a good friend and someone I could call about anything.

"A beautiful person inside and out, Thank you for all the laughs and memories I will cherish forever."

Another added: "I cannot believe what I'm hearing right now. I literally spoke to you last night & was supposed to see you tomorrow. Fly high Amie Gray."
