England captain Harry Kane is reportedly undergoing special treatment for a back issue in a bid to be fit for Euro 2024. The 30-year-old has just finished his maiden season with Bayern Munich, and has been a revelation thus far in Germany after scoring 44 goals in 45 club games.

But he missed the final two games of the campaign, a 2-0 win over Wolfsburg before Sunday's 4-2 loss at Hoffenheim, due to injury. That followed him being hauled off before the end in Bayern's dramatic Champions League semi final second leg at Real Madrid, with manager Thomas Tuchel later explaining that Kane's back problem was the reason for the change.

Speaking ahead of his side's final Bundesliga match at the weekend, Tuchel explained: "He can't travel. He was already at the limit in Madrid. He had a complete blockade in his back, it's gotten worse and bothers him in everyday movements."

And now Sky Germany have revealed that the striker is undergoing specialist treatment. But he is said to be confident of being fit for his country's opening game at the Euro's, which takes place against Serbia on June 16.

But prior to that, the Three Lions have friendlies against Bosnia and Iceland on June 3 and 7, respectively. Following the latter fixture, the squad will travel to their Gelsenkirchen base in Germany.

On Tuesday, Gareth Southgate is due to name his preliminary England squad for this summer's tournament, with the manager expected to include more than 30 players. This will later be scaled down, with teams permitted a 26 man squad.

And even if it emerged that Kane wouldn't be ready for England's opener, he's almost certain to be included so long as he can play some part. Following the Serbia clash, England face Denmark on June 20 before completing the group against Slovenia on June 25.
