Tyson Fury's 6,000 calorie daily meal plan including 12am snack | Boxing | Sport

Tyson Fury is preparing for his upcoming bout with Oleksandr Usyk with an astonishing 6,000-calorie diet. The British boxer has undergone a remarkable body transformation ahead of his May 18 fights, maximizing his opportunity to become the sport's first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years.

"As he gets closer to the fight, obviously output starts going up," Fury's nutritionist George Lockhart told Betway. "As the fight gets close, in the last two weeks, he'll probably be eating 5,000/6,000 calories. Tyson's very steady. Whether it’s an intense day or a light day, he'll wake up and be almost the exact same weight, no matter what. Though, he's not actually a big eater like a lot of people would think. When I started working with him, I thought I would be cooking for a freaking army, but that's not the case."

Fury stunned boxing fans around the world after gym photos saw the heavyweight rocking a six-pack for "the first time in [his] life. The Brit had always been identifiable by his burlier appearance, long maintaining that it gave him an advantage in the ring, and surprised even himself with his ability to drop the extra pounds.

"I would love to have a good body," Fury told MailSport in 2023. "But, I don't have any hope of having a good body. I am fat now, I was fat as a baby and I will be fat on my deathbed. We're all fat. Hughie is fat, Shane's fat, my dad's fat and even my mum's fat. I hope she's not watching this. But, we're a fat family."

Lockhart adopted extreme measures to sculpt Fury's new beach-ready physique, including a midnight meal almost every evening that typically includes bananas, smoothies and protein shakes. A famous friend of bodybuilders worldwide, chicken features in each day of Fury's meal plans, with eggs, lamb and beef offering other key sources of protein.

He also noted that Fury is apparently not a big fan of vegetables, forcing the nutritionist to cook these foods heavily to dilute the texture and flavor. Vegetable intake will have to spike before the fight, according to Lockhart, to ensure Fury is receiving all his micronutrients.

While this body transformation has offered Fury a surge of confidence — he posted a recent Instagram saying "Nine weeks until Usyk gets battered" — some remain skeptical about how this weight loss will transfer into the ring.

"I'm not sure if it is a good thing to be honest," former boxer Carl Froch said about Fury's recent weight loss. "That weight allowed him to bully Deontay Wilder, lean on him, tie him up and just have his own way. When it gets on top for Fury, when he's under pressure, he's able to sit back, get hold of the back of his opponent's neck, lean on him and use his body weight to get himself out of trouble.
