Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share glimpse of ‘hands on parenting' | Royal | News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have shared a glimpse of how they are “hands-on parents” in a sweet video with school children

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on the second day of their visit to Nigeria to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Harry and Meghan landed in the country on Friday and kicked off with a tour of Lightway Academy, a primary and secondary school in Abuja.

During their tour the couple visited a reception class where children aged up to five danced and sang - at one point, the visitors got to their feet and joined the class in singing Jump Up, Turn Around.

A video of the Sussexes dancing with the children has been posted on social media with many noting how it shows the pair’s “hands-on” parenting style.

Other fans said it showed them “working as a team”, with one social media user saying they look “relaxed and natural with people”.

Meghan said during the visit that dancing is Princess Lilibet's favourite class, adding: "Maybe it’s all the jumping around."

She added: "Our daughter, Lili, she's much, much tinier than you guys. She's about to turn three. And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes.

“And she [goes], 'Mama, I see me in you'. Now she was talking really literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way.

"And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you." Meghan then told the class: "As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

The Sussexes were invited to visit Nigeria by the country’s Department of Defence on a non-official tour. While there, they have met with Nigerian athletes and attended an event on women in leadership.
