A huge fire has erupted in a town in Staffordshire with residents urged to close their windows and doors as smoke billows for miles. 

All businesses have been ordered to evacuate after the fire broke out close to the orbital islands in Cannock. 

Staffordshire Fire tweeted: "Large incident in Cannock, fire Fighters are asking all residents to close windows and doors due to smoke and all local businesses to evacuate.

"We have a very large scale incident close to the orbital islands in Cannock. We have 10 fire engines in attendance supported by specialist equipment and officers.

"Some roads closures are in place."

There are no reports of any casualties at present.
